BCC signs a contract with eShakkhor
On the 1st anniversary of Smart Bangladesh, Bangladesh Computer Council Certifying Authority (BCC CA) have signed a contract with eShakkhor Limited, a sister concern of Fair Pattern Inc. BCC, as one of the licensed Certifying Authority in Bangladesh, is providing digital signature certificate to the government and private sector users. According to the decision of the government, BCC has introduced digital signature based eSign service for leveraging the implementation of paperless office, an important milestone of Smart Bangladesh. Adoption of digital signature technology does play vital role in smart government and smart economy. According to this contract agreement, BCC will provide eSign Service to eShakkhor Limited to use it in one of their SaaS application developed for document and proposal management system with other numerous features. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in Bangladesh's journey towards becoming a Smart Nation.
The Contract Signing Ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Mr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Secretary, ICT Division; Special Guest Mr. Ranajit Kumar, Executive Director (Grade-1), Bangladesh Computer Council, Special Guest Mr. ATM Ziaul Islam, Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) and Mr. Mohammad Mohidur Rahman Khan, In-charge (CA Operation and Security), Bangladesh Computer Council. They were joined by Mr. Md Bazlul Huq, Director of eShakkhor Limited. and his team. This is the first time in Bangladesh a Contract Agreement has been signed by the parties electronically using eSign platform of BCC CA.
"The signing of this contract marks a pivotal moment in our nation's digital transformation." stated Md. Shamsul Arefin, Secretary, ICT Division. "The implementation of eSign will not only enhance efficiency and transparency in government and business operations but also empower citizens to participate more actively in the digital economy. By implementing eSign in different Government Services we can prevent many fraudulent activities that are possible with our current digital systems and hand written signatures.”
Ranajit Kumar, Executive Director (Grade-1), Bangladesh Computer Council, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that "BCC has been working since 2010 for establishing the building blocks of the digital signatures technology according to the directives of ICT Act 2006. BCC has started operating as licensed CA from 2016 and providing digital signature certificate issuance services since then. With the advent of smart phone technologies and mobility requirement by different digital applications, it became a necessity to simplify the digital signing process that can support signing from any devices whether it is a computer or a smart phone. Considering this, BCC has started working from 2021 to implement eSign services using which a user can sign any digital document very easily from any devices from anywhere. Today, through this agreement we have gone one step forward towards building Smart Bangladesh.”
Md Bazlul Huq, Director of eShakkhor Limited stated that the platform of eShakkhor Limited which is a brain child of Mr. Simon Islam, MD, Fair Pattern Inc., built with modernized technologies like micro-services architecture, artificial intelligence for scalability, and a dynamic document builder with real-time customization capabilities. The platform is not merely a tool for reducing paper consumption; it's a strategic asset that redefines how documents are conceived, administered, and executed. It will empower businesses to focus on growth and client relationships, unburdened by the challenges of traditional document management. Addition of eSign features into the eShakkhor platform guarantee the authenticity and integrity of digital documents by verifying the legally validated digital identity of the individual who signs the digital documents.
